Scholarship Benefits:
Scholarship recipients can receive an annual award amount between $5,000 and $12,000. The scholarship is renewable on a yearly basis, contingent upon the student’s ability to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, their enrollment as a full-time student, and their continued status as a non-resident student.
Eligibility Requirements:
International students applying to MSU will be assessed for scholarships upon submitting their application. - Pay the application fee, which is US$38 for online applications or US$30 for paper applications. The fee must be paid in U.S. currency and made payable to Montana State University. - Provide proof of English proficiency. Multiple options are available to demonstrate English proficiency, and detailed information can be found on the Options for Meeting the English Proficiency Admissions Requirements webpage. If a student is unable to provide proof of English proficiency, conditional admission may be granted, leading to enrollment in the intensive English program before starting the academic program. It is crucial to acknowledge that students with conditional admission will not be eligible for scholarships until they meet the English Proficiency Requirement. For students completing Interlink, please contact the Office of International Programs (OIP) to request a review of your application for scholarship eligibility during the final weeks of Interlink’s classes.
- Submit your transcripts. Freshman applicants should provide their high school transcript, while transfer students should submit transcripts for all completed post-secondary coursework. Both the front and back of the transcripts should be sent. If the transcripts are not in English, they must be translated by a Certified English Translator in addition to the original transcript. Unofficial transcripts are accepted for the admissions review process, but official transcripts must be submitted before registering for MSU courses. Official transcripts should be sent directly from your school to Montana State University.
