Clinton Global Initiative University Program, USA 2022

Launched by Bill Clinton in 2007, the Clinton global initiative university stands on the idea of engaging the next generation of leaders on college campuses across the world. The goal is to challenge students from all over the world to make commitments to new projects that treat critical concerns.

Since the launching of the program in 2007, over 7,000 commitments have been made, and funding of more than $4M has been awarded to commitment makers through CGI U.

Each year, the Clinton Global Initiative University brings together undergraduate and graduate students from different parts of the world, who are committed to taking action in their community to address a pressing challenge and who are motivated to make a positive change in fields of education, poverty alleviation, peace, and human rights, environment, and climate change, and public health.

Accepted students will get to participate in a year-round program that includes access to a social impact curriculum; high-touch mentorship; funding streams; and student engagement events, including the CGI U 2021 virtual annual meeting that will be hosted by Howard University.
